At least nine people are dead and thousands of homes have been destroyed in three dangerous wildfires which are burning across California.

The Camp Fire, in northern California, started Thursday morning, killing at least nine people and burning the entire 27,000-population town of Paradise.

Meanwhile, two smaller fires — The Woolsey and Hill Fires — also started on Thursday to the south, and are burning through parts of Ventura and the outskirts of Los Angeles, shutting down stretches of the freeway. Another small fire broke out on Friday morning inside the city limits of LA.

You can see a map of the fires here.

While so far there are no reported deaths or injuries from the southern California fires, at least 150 homes have been burned, according to southern California officials, with that number expected to rise.

Among those properties threatened are a number of celebrity homes, and A-listers were mong the 250,000 people in Ventura and LA countries who had already been evacuated as of Friday night.

Kim Kardashian-West

Kim Kardashian-West was forced to flee her Hidden Hills property within one hour on Thursday night, according to People, after coming home to find that the wildfire in her neighborhood was burning out of control.

She filmed the flames from her private jet and shared the aerial video to her Instagram stories, telling fans she was evacuating and asking them to "pray for Calabasas."

She then tweeted that she had "heard the flames have hit our property at our home in Hidden Hills but now are more contained and have stopped at the moment."

Caitlyn Jenner

Jenner's home in Malibu hills has been completely destroyed by the flames, according to TMZ, but it was confirmed that the reality star had evacuated and was safe.

Kourtney Kardashian

Kim's sister Kourtney lives in the area of Calabasas, and also chose to evacaute.

According to People, she shared a photo of her car trunk packed with bags saying: "I pray that everyone is kept safe and protected from these fires. No Calabasas tonight."

'A Star Is Born' originally had a different ending

A Star is Born 2018

Warning: Spoilers ahead for "A Star Is Born."

"A Star Is Born" almost had a different ending.

Toby Emmerich, the chairman of Warner Bros. Pictures Group, told Variety that the initial script he read for the hit movie starring Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga was not what was filmed.

"The first ending that I read, [Jackson] actually swims out into the ocean, where he commits suicide," he said.

The script was changed before the movie was shot, but that finale didn't stay either.

"The script that we had when he started shooting, he rides his motorcycle," Emmerich said. "It was more like the Kris Kristofferson ending [in the 1976 version of 'A Star Is Born'] with the Ferrari, but with Jackson with the Harley."

But Cooper, who directed the movie and plays Jackson Maine, changed the ending once again.

"Bradley changed his mind and came to see me and pitched the idea of what he ended up shooting," Emmerich said, "I think he was right. When I watch the movie now, I can't imagine it ending any other way."

"A Star Is Born," which was released in August, ends with Maine committing suicide by hanging. The final scene in the movie is Ally, played by Gaga, singing an emotional tribute to her late husband.

Wildfires have been spreading through California for days, causing destruction and leading residents to evacuate their homes. Some celebrities, like Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth, have lost their homes, while others have partially destroyed residences.

Amid efforts to rebuild areas affected by the raging wildfires, stars have made sizable donations, delivered supplies, and encouraged fans to help by any possible means.

Keep reading to learn more about the celebrities who have contributed to relief efforts.

Sandra Bullock donated $100,000 to the Humane Society of Ventura County.

The foundation is currently working to rescue and care for evacuated animals as long as necessary.

"Sandra Bullock and her family have reached out to other nonprofit organizations both during this incident and in the past,"HSVC shared on their site. "However, this time she wanted to contribute to those on the front line rescuing animals in peril and hope others will choose to do the same."

Khloe Kardashian went to CVS and picked up supplies for firefighters.

"I know the brave men and women that are working so hard, tirelessly for all of us will greatly appreciate it," she said. "So please just do whatever you can, even if it's one bottle of water, one container of eye drops, one granola bar, anything. I know they would appreciate it."

Kris Jenner also posted a list of useful products needed by first responders on Instagram

Lady Gaga delivered boxes of pizza, hot coffee, and gift cards to a shelter.

Gaga was one of many celebrities who had to evacuate their homes.

To celebrate World Kindness Day on Tuesday, the singer shared a series of videos and photos of the good deeds she was doing, from visiting a shelter to delivering food and beverages. She also thanked Red Cross "for all you are doing to provide shelter, love, and mental support to the people of California."

Prior to that, Gaga also stopped by a makeshift Red Cross shelter at Pacific Palisades High School, according to TMZ.

"I extend my love to each and every one of you," she said during a speech. "I know we do not know each other, but I love you. This is an emergency, but you are not alone."

Texts from Dr. Luke's $50 million defamation lawsuit reveal that Kesha and Lady Gaga called Katy Perry 'mean'

Kesha, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry

  • In new documents from Kesha's legal battle with producer Dr. Luke, it was revealed that Kesha and Lady Gaga discussed Katy Perry in text messages.
  • Dr. Luke's lawyers wanted to release the texts to prove Kesha had defamed him to other entertainers.
  • The messages show Kesha and Lady Gaga calling Perry "mean."
  • Lady Gaga said in a statement on Twitter on Friday that the texts were "old" and that she and Perry "love each other."

Kesha and Lady Gaga's text messages about Katy Perry from more than two years ago have been revealed as part of Kesha's ongoing legal battle with music producer Dr. Luke.

In new court documents from Dr. Luke's defamation suit against Kesha, first obtained by Radar Online, the texts that have long been discussed as part of the case were revealed.

The texts show Kesha and Lady Gaga slamming Katy Perry as "mean," and claiming she, too, was assaulted by Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukas Gottwald.

"I'm really upset with Katy Perry," Kesha said to Gaga in texts February 26, 2016. "She could bring the whole thing to a head…She was raped by the same man. She is probably really afraid to lose everything," Kesha alleged in one text message.

"U are really strong standing up to him, she's not as strong as u yet," Gaga responded. "Have you talked to her?"

"[You’re] right," Kesha said in response. "I need to find sympathy and empathy for her. She's so mean. It's hard."

In the text messages, Gaga offered to talk to Perry, adding, "I know she’s mean."

Upon news that the texts had been released, Lady Gaga said in a statement on Twitter that the texts were "old" and that she and Perry "love each other."

Perry has repeatedly denied being sexually assaulted by Dr. Luke, and in a newly unsealed court deposition released by The Blast, she said she was "pissed off" that Kesha brought her into the legal battle.

She said in her deposition that Lady Gaga and Kesha "think I was raped and I was not," according to court documents obtained by Us Weekly.

She then claimed she "felt pressured" to support Kesha and that "people were generally very angry" she had not spoken out about the allegations against Dr. Luke.

Kesha's lawsuit that claimed Dr. Luke repeatedly assaulted her when he worked as her producer was dismissed in 2016. Dr. Luke filed a defamation case against her for the accusations.

His lawyers wanted to include the text messages between Kesha and Lady Gaga as proof that Kesha had allegedly defamed him to other people in the entertainment industry, Radar Online reported.

The defamation lawsuit is ongoing.

INSIDER has contacted representatives for Kesha, Lady Gaga and Parry for comment.

Fans think Madonna just threw major shade at Lady Gaga again — here's everything you need to know about their feud

madonna and lady gaga

  • On Tuesday, Madonna posted a clip of an old interview in her Instagram story — and her words bear a strikingly resemblance to a popular Lady Gaga quote.
  • Fans believe this is another example in a long history of shade and insults traded between the two starlets.
  • Their feud began in 2011, when Gaga's song "Born This Way" drew comparisons to Madonna's "Express Yourself"— which Madonna later called a "blatant rip-off."
  • "I've basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna," Gaga told Attitude in 2013.
  • Here's everything you need to know about this drama.

Fans believe that Madonna has reignited her longstanding feud with Lady Gaga using a short interview clip.

On Tuesday, the 60-year-old starlet posted a clip of an old interview in her Instagram story: "100 people in the room and 99 people say they liked it, I only remember the one person who didn't," she says in the video, which she re-posted from Giovanni Bianco, the Creative Director of Vogue Italia.

"My girl does and says everything always first of all," Bianco captioned the clip.

Fans immediately drew comparisons between the quote and a phrase that Gaga has repeatedly used during the "A Star Is Born" press tour.

"There can be 100 people in a room and 99 don't believe in you, but all it takes is one," Gaga has said in reference to director and co-star Bradley Cooper, who advocated for Gaga's casting in the lead role. (In fact, she has repeated variations of this phrase so often that fans have made memes and compilation videos.)

Madonna deleted her re-post of the clip shortly after receiving ire from Gaga fans. She did, however, share two posts with potentially interesting captions — the first of which reads, "Don't f--- with me Monday."

"I heard it all before...talk is cheap. If you can't improve the silence...say nothing," she captioned the second post, adding the hashtag #sorrynotsorry.

I heard it all before.................talk is cheap. If you cant improve the silence.........say nothing. #sorrynotsorry 💜

A post shared by Madonna (@madonna) on Dec 3, 2018 at 8:39pm PST on

Here's a complete rundown of everything you need to know about this feud.

The two pop stars began trading barbs when Gaga released "Born This Way" in 2011.

The popular single immediately drew comparisons to Madonna's "Express Yourself."

It was not the first time Gaga had been accused of borrowing heavily from Madonna's style and sound: her embrace of Catholic imagery, LGBTQ shout-outs, and cone bras all bear similarities to Madonna's past works. But it was the first time either starlet had addressed the comparisons directly.

lady gaga

"I thought, this is a wonderful way to redo my song. I mean, I recognized the chord changes. I thought it was... interesting,"Madonna told ABC News, calling Gaga's song "reductive."

"I certainly think she references me a lot in her work," she continued. "And sometimes I think it's amusing and flattering and well done."

Shortly after, Gaga called the comparison "moronic."

"If you put the songs next to each other, side by side, the only similarities are the chord progression,"she told NME. "It's the same one that's been in disco music for the last 50 years. Just because I'm the first f---ing artist in 25 years to think of putting it on Top 40 radio, it doesn't mean I'm a plagiarist, it means that I'm f---ing smart. Sorry."

Months later, Gaga admitted that "Madonna is a wonderful influence" on her career: "It's all down to her that I'm able to do what I do," she told the Daily Mirror.

Madonna began to perform a mashup of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" on tour in 2012.

Madonna rehashed the controversy in 2015.

"The only time I ever criticized Lady Gaga was when I felt like she blatantly ripped off one of my songs,"she told Rolling Stone. "It's got nothing to do with ‘she's taking my crown' or ‘she's in some space of mine.' She has her thing."

"I do think she's a very talented singer and songwriter," she continued. "It was just that one issue. And everybody's obviously running with it and turned it into a huge feud, which I think is really boring, quite frankly. And you know what? I don't care anymore."

lady gaga madonna feud netflix

Gaga responded in 2016, telling Beats 1 radio host Zane Lowe that she and Madonna are "very different."

"I wouldn't make that comparison at all and I don't mean to disrespect Madonna, she's a nice lady, and she's had a fantastic huge career, biggest pop star of all time," she said, as reported by Page Six. "But I play a lot of instruments. I write all my own music. I spend hours a day in the studio. I'm a producer. I'm a writer. What I do is different."

"I just will not be compared to anyone anymore, I am who the f--- I am and this is me. My life story is my life story, just like yours is."

"I've basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna."

Gaga ignited fan fury when she addressed the feud head-on in a 2016 interview with Attitude magazine.

"I have to be really honest, I was completely kind of floored that Madonna was singing my song on her stage every night," Gaga said, as reported by HuffPost

"The fact that I was on her mind at all. I mean, Madonna's... she's Madonna. I looked up to her for a long time. I'm not quite sure what her intention was — to do that in the show, but I don't really care,"Gaga continued. "I think playing into the gossip of the tabloids and, I guess the fodder of the competition, that's just not what I'm about."

"All it meant to me was that Madonna Ciccone was singing my song on her stage and I'm 27! And as a punk-rocker from New York, I've basically been hoping that I would become so good that one day I would piss off Madonna."

This quote is still a sore spot for Madonna fans, who believe that Gaga was exposing herself as having bad intentions.

"I just want Madonna to f---ing push me up against a wall and kiss me and tell me I'm a piece of s---."

Gaga expressed some conflicting viewpoints on the Madonna controversy in her 2017 Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two."

The "Joanne" singer vacillated between admiration for Madonna and frustration with her apparently shady actions.

"Telling me that you think I'm a piece of s--- through the media is like, it's like a guy passing me a note through his friend. My buddy thinks your hot," Gaga says. "Where's your buddy f---ing throwing me up against the wall and kissing me? I just want Madonna to f---ing push me up against a wall and kiss me and tell me I'm a piece of s---."

Later in the documentary, you can see the singer briefly joke about her feud with Madonna again while visiting her grandma.

A younger photo of Lady Gaga is shown from high school when she was known as Stefani Germanotta before she had braces and a visible gap is seen in the singer's front two teeth.

"Hey, if I had kept that gap then I would have had even more problems with Madonna," says Gaga.

Madonna, of course, famously has a gap between her two front teeth.

7 artists who don't deserve their 2019 Grammy nominations — sorry

$
0

cardi b post malone

Music is easily one of the most subjective topics to debate — which places the Grammy Awards' Academy members in a constant crossfire.

Major award shows are bound to make mistakes. It's unavoidable. Our challenge, then, is to sort through the uproar and find nominations that future generations will look back on with either rage or confusion.

Here are seven artists whose nominations seem at least somewhat undeserving, in no particular order.

Cardi B had a monumental year, but "Invasion of Privacy" isn't "Album of the Year" material.

It's certainly encouraging to see the Grammys hand five nominations to Cardi B, an unapologetic, unconventional firecracker — whose success reflects the significant shift towards rap and hip hop for modern music fans.

But that doesn't mean her debut studio album, "Invasion of Privacy," necessarily deserves the high praise.

While the project hits some very high points — "I Like It," for example, is perfectly at home in the "Record of the Year" category — it was inconsistent as a whole. "Invasion of Privacy" shows great promise for the young, chart-topping rapper, and proves she's here to stay. But popularity and easy listening doesn't always equate to "Album of the Year" potential.

"The Middle" is more annoying than award-winning.

"The Middle"— the earworm collaboration between DJ Zedd and singer Maren Morris, which you've probably heard in a Target commercial — secured three nominations for the 2019 Grammys.

While the song's commercial success somewhat excuses this lapse in judgment, it would have made more sense to stop at the nod for "Best Pop Duo/Group Performance"— without letting it slither into two of the most prestigious categories: "Record of the Year" and "Song of the Year."

Post Malone didn't need an "Album of the Year" nomination.

To be sure, Post Malone has a talent for hit-making. Giving "Rockstar" a "Record of the Year" nomination makes perfect sense; it's a perfect song.

But Post Malone doesn't offer the kind of nuanced, relevant, boundary-pushing music that we've come to expect from rappers at the top of their game — and he doesn't want to. He has explicitly warned his fans not to expect "real s---" from him.

"If you're looking for lyrics, if you're looking to cry, if you're looking to think about life, don't listen to hip-hop," he said last year, which is something a person would only say if they're benefiting from a layered, historically significant genre that they fundamentally don't understand, a person who's ignorant about black music and culture.

"Beerbongs & Bentleys" reflects this attitude. It's an album comprised of mediocre songwriting with catchy hooks and some well-placed, high-profile features. It's certainly not the "Album of the Year."

Bradley Cooper keeps making the same suit mistake, and it's one of the cardinal sins of men's fashion

Actor Bradley Cooper attends the 'A Star Is Born' Japan premiere at Roppongi Hills on December 11, 2018 in Tokyo, Japan.

Will Bradley Cooper ever learn?

The A-list actor keeps making the same classic suit mistake time and time again.

Cooper arrived at the Japan premiere of "A Star Is Born,"which he directed and starred in, wearing an extremely elegant herringbone coat.

Read more:Bradley Cooper says he 'fell in love' with Lady Gaga's face and eyes when he cast her in 'A Star is Born'

It looked like a perfectly sartorial outfit choice from Cooper, who teamed his outerwear with blue windowpane trousers, a navy patterned tie, and polished brown dress shoes.

It was all going so well — until he took his jacket off.

Cooper's elegant blue suit was marred by a textbook faux pas: his blazer's bottom button was done up.

This is basically lesson one in suit-wearing and one of the cardinal sins any man can make with his tailoring.

The tradition supposedly dates back to the days of King Edward VII (who ruled from 1901 to 1910). The story goes that the king got too fat for his waistcoat as suits were becoming in vogue, so he stopped fastening the bottom button to make it fit better.

Out of respect for him, the British court — and, eventually, everyone else in England and the British colonies — stopped buttoning their bottom buttons, too. The style has stuck ever since.

Read more:Here's the bizarre reason you're not supposed to use the bottom button on suits

Leaving your bottom button undone also makes sense for practical purposes too, Jack Stammers of Jack Davison Bespoke tailors in London tells INSIDER.

"Leaving the bottom button undone dates back centuries. However, nowadays, many modern suits are made in a way that the front edge of the suit is more cut away, and when the second button is done up can look to be pulling and unflattering to the intended cut."

As a result, Cooper's blazer wraps awkwardly around his midriff in a way that widens him at the waist and slims his chest — not a good look.

Colin Hunter, cofounder of American menswear company Alton Lane, agreed that this is one fashion rule that should never be broken.

"There are some stylistic decisions that could be debatable based on personal preference," he said.

"This isn't one of them.

"The standard rule on a blazer or suit jacket is to always leave the last button undone.  For a three-button jacket, you would button the top two buttons and for a two button jacket, you only button the top one.

"I'm surprised to see Bradley make this mistake, since his style is usually so on point."

It's not the first time Cooper has gone rogue with his bottom button. D'Marge notes that the actor went fully-fastened to another "A Star Is Born" premiere, and to the Wimbledon tennis tournament previously.

Stammers also stipulated that despite Cooper's lapse in style judgement, he's usually a figure of inspiration for all things fashion and tailoring.

Just take a look at how much better he looks with the traditional bottom button undone.

Lady Gaga and Bradley Cooper attend 'A Star Is Born' photocall during the 75th Venice Film Festival at Sala Casino on August 31, 2018 in Venice, Italy.

Bradley, if you're reading this, please stop doing up that bottom button.

  • Gaga's fiancé and agent Christian Carino first posted a photo of the musician on Instagram wearing light purple hair.
  • Gaga then took to her Instagram page three days later, posting a photo of herself with what look like icy silver locks.

Lady Gaga is no stranger to changing up her look.

Once known for wearing lace face masks and sky-high heels, the artist has recently toned down her everyday style, frequently donning cowboy hats and jeans. But Gaga has also made just as many changes to her hair.

On December 20, the musician's fiancé and agent Christian Carino took to Instagram to share a photo of Gaga sitting in front of a fountain. Her usually-blonde hair appeared to have been dyed almost white with lilac highlights.

  • President Donald Trump, Republicans, and administration officials have responded to a second December death of a migrant child in US custody.

  • In an interview, outgoing White House chief of staff John Kelly said Trump's "Wall" won't actually be a wall.

  • Business Insider spoke to truck drivers pointedly blocking Tesla Superchargers as multiple reports of the trend have surfaced online.

It was the weekend before New Year's Day 2019, but 2018's news didn't stop.

Following the death of a second migrant child in US custody on Christmas Eve, Trump and other officials have given varied responses.

Another trying weekend for Tesla, capping off a tumultuous 2018.

The outgoing White House chief of staff had some new and confusing things to say about the US-Mexico border obstacle formerly known as the "wall."

And now we know the identity of the former Russian spy who acted as Paul Manafort's go-between with a Russian oligarch who supposedly exchanged his debts for access.

The deaths of two migrant children in US custody at the southern US border prompted renewed tensions over Trump's immigration policies, while the president again sought to blame Democrats.

In a wide-ranging interview with the Los Angeles Times, outgoing White House chief of staff John Kelly said there is no actual wall, and the administration's zero-tolerance immigration policy was all Jeff Sessions and a surprise to officials.

  • Kelly also pointed the finger of blame at former Attorney General Jeff Sessions for the administration's policy that resulted in the separation of hundreds of migrant children from their families, saying, "he surprised us."

"Why is Celine Dion me at a Lady Gaga concert," wrote one fan on Twitter.

"Celine Dion jamming to Lady Gaga is the BIGGEST mood," another wrote.

Gaga shared video of Dion dancing on her Instagram story and posted a photo that said, "I love you, Céline."

She also acknowledged Dion's presence during the show and dedicated "You and I" to the singer. She also said Dion joined her entire team backstage to pray before the show.

"You're legendary, you're supportive, you're kind," she said. "This one is for you and I."

On the Instagram story for her residency, a video was posted with everyone backstage shouting, "Enigma, Céline," with the singer.

Gaga's residency at the Park MGM Resort will continue through November 2019.

Dion herself had her own residency at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas from 2003 until 2007 and returned again in 2011 before postponing her shows in 2014 due to her husband's battle with cancer. She came back once again in 2015 until her husband's death in 2016 but returned shortly after. Her residency is set to end June 8, 2019.

  • Lady Gaga's rumored beauty line, Haus Beauty, quietly debuted a website.
  • The singer's company filed a trademark for Haus Beauty earlier this year, with Lady Gaga herself using the #HausBeauty hashtag in September.
  • While fans can enter their email addresses on HausBeauty.com now, the website offers few details on when we can expect a makeup line from Lady Gaga to actually launch.

The evidence is adding up that Lady Gaga is on the cusp of launching a beauty line in 2019.

Over the last week, fansnoticed that HausBeauty.com — long the rumored name of Lady Gaga's yet-to-be-launched makeup line — was live and allowing people to enter their email addresses into the site.

The website's appearance follows months of rumors surrounding the line. In May, fans noticed that Lady Gaga's company, Ate My Heart Inc., had filed a trademark for "Haus Beauty,"Elle reports. The filing describes Haus Beauty as a cosmetics and makeup line.

In July, the trademark was issued for Haus Beauty as well as Haus Labs, another cosmetics-related trademark filed by Ate My Heart Inc.

In September, Lady Gaga posted a series of three Instagrams with the #hausbeauty hashtag. The photos and video show the singer in Marc Jacobs Beauty makeup, with Lady Gaga tagging the @marcbeauty Instagram account. Elle reports that Gaga's makeup artist, Sarah Tanno, is the Global Artistry Ambassador for Marc Jacobs Beauty.

Beauty lines have long been popular and often profitable projects for singers. For example, Rihanna's Fenty Beauty has been making waves since it launched in September 2017. According to Vogue, the makeup line brought in $100 million in sales within the first 40 days of its launch.

Lady Gaga's blue ball gown looks almost exactly like one Judy Garland wore over half a decade ago in 'A Star Is Born'

  • Lady Gaga wore a blue Valentino gown to the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday.
  • Her statement dress looks a lot like the gown that Judy Garland wore in the "A Star Is Born" movie from 1954.
  • Both dresses expose the shoulders and have a ball-gown silhouette, as well as a voluminous skirt and fitted bodice.
  • Gaga's dress, which matched with her new hair color, makes a statement of its own as a modern update of the look.

Lady Gaga turned heads as she arrived at the 76th annual Golden Globes, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills on Sunday, wearing a voluminous, powder-blue ball gown.

Gaga's couture Valentino dress is reminiscent of a gown that Judy Garland wore in the "A Star Is Born" movie from over half a century ago.

Garland and Gaga both played leading roles in versions of "A Star Is Born." Garland played the role of Vicki Lester in the 1954 movie, while Gaga played Ally opposite Bradley Cooper in the role of Jack, in the 2018 version.

Their dresses may have a slightly different color — Gaga's is a much brighter shade of blue, while Garland's appears to be more of a silvery blue — but have similar details.

Each dress bares the shoulders and has a ball-gown silhouette, as well as a voluminous skirt and fitted bodice. But instead of gathered fabric at the shoulders, as on Garland's dress, Gaga's gown has low, puffy sleeves that fall as far as her wrists — perhaps a modern update of Garland's elbow-length gloves.

It appears to have a much longer train, too.

Their accessories are also slightly different. Although she wore diamond stud earrings like Garland, Gaga wore a Tiffany diamond necklace, and wore delicate bracelets on her wrists.

Like the latest version of "A Star Is Born," Gaga's outfit is a modern take on a classic, and no less worthy of attention.

Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg mocked Lady Gaga's '100 people in a room' speech at the Golden Globes, and she responded in the best way

  • In their presenting roles at the 2019 Golden Globes, Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg mocked Lady Gaga's now famous sound-bite from filming "A Star is Born."
  • Gaga became known for repeatedly saying, "There can be 100 people in a room and 99 don't believe in you, but just one does and it can change your life."
  • When Oh poked fun at her fellow actor for this, Gaga responded saying, "It's true!"
  • The 76th annual Golden Globes took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills on Sunday.

Lady Gaga's favourite sound-bite from the "A Star Is Born" press tour was mocked by Golden Globes 2019 hosts Sandra Oh and Andy Samberg, prompting some of the best memes of the night.

While promoting the hit musical, which picked up five Golden Globes nominations ahead of the ceremony, the singer repeated the same anecdote about her director Bradley Cooper: that there might be 100 people in a room who didn't believe in her, but she only needed Cooper's support to make her dream come true.

A supercut of Gaga telling the story emerged online shortly after, compiling various versions of the singer saying "There can be 100 people in a room and 99 don't believe in you, but just one does and it can change your life."

The viral clip clearly didn't escape the notice of Globes hosts Oh and Samberg, who poked fun in their opening monologue.

Discussing achievements in film over the past year, Oh said: "And it just proves — and I'm just coming up with this now — that there can be 100 people in the room and 99 don't believe in you and you just need one to believe in you and that was Bradley Cooper."

As she made the joke, the camera panned across to Gaga and Cooper's table, showing the singer laughing as she shouted: "It's true!"

Samberg picked up where his co-host left off, re-iterating the anecdote and telling the audience: "There can be 100 people in a room and 99 of them don't believe in you, and one does, and that one is Bradley Cooper."

The duo's parody immediately prompted a wave of memes which riffed on Gaga's memorable quote.

Some turned her phrase on its head to account for "A Star is Born"'s surprisingly low success rate at the Globes, winning in just one of the five categories in which it was nominated, as fans joked that the "99 people" might all be members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the Globes' voting body.

Others suggested that the singer might have to scramble to re-write her planned acceptance speech after Oh and Samberg's joke.

Perhaps the most ambitious memes of all were those that combined Gaga's "100 people" quote with Fiji Water Girl, a woman handing out refreshments on the red carpet who became the unexpected viral hit of the night thanks to her photobombing skills.

When Gaga did finally make her speech after winning the Best Original Song award, she steered clear of the anecdote altogether, instead tearing up as she thanked the co-writers of "Shallow."

Lady Gaga dazzled in a necklace with over 300 diamonds that took her Cinderella-like gown to the next level

  • Lady Gaga wore a Valentino haute couture gown to the 2019 Golden Globes on Sunday.
  • The singer accessorized the dress with a custom-made necklace by Tiffany & Co. called the Tiffany Aurora, the company said in a press release.
  • The necklace features over 300 diamonds, including one 20-carat pear-shaped diamond at the center of the opulent piece.
  • The Tiffany Aurora was named after the goddess of dawn and a cluster of stars — a nod to Gaga's role in "A Star Is Born."
  • The actress took home a Globe for best original song in a motion picture, alongside "Shallow" co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt.

Lady Gaga dazzled on the red carpet at the Golden Globes in over 100 carats of diamonds.

On Sunday, the singer attended the awards ceremony, held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California, in a head-turning periwinkle gown with voluminous half sleeves and a long dramatic train.

The "A Star Is Born" actress — who took home the Globe for best original song in a motion picture, alongside "Shallow" co-writers Mark Ronson, Anthony Rossomando, and Andrew Wyatt — also dyed her hair blue to match her Valentino haute couture dress.

Lady Gaga accessorized the unforgettable gown with a diamond necklace custom-made by Tiffany & Co., according to a press release from the company.

Named after the goddess of dawn and a cluster of stars — a nod to Gaga's role in "A Star Is Born"— the necklace features over 300 diamonds, including one 20-carat pear-shaped diamond at the center of the opulent piece.

In an email to INSIDER, a representative for Tiffany & Co. said Gaga also wore $115,000 platinum diamond earrings and three platinum diamond bracelets that cost $145,000, $130,000, and $45,000 — all designed by the company.

Jewelry aside, Gaga's red-carpet look was a standout for another reason: It seemed to pay homage to a gown Judy Garland wore in the 1954 adaptation of the original "A Star Is Born" film, released in 1937.

Garland played aspiring singer-turned-star Esther Blodgett, who has her named changed to Vicki Lester partway through the film; Gaga played the corresponding leading role in Bradley Cooper's 2018 remake of the movie, although her character is named Ally, not Esther.

In one scene of the 1954 adaptation, Garland wears a pale lilac-colored gown that has a fitted bodice and voluminous skirt, just like the Valentino design Gaga wore to the Globes on Sunday.

Although Garland's look also features elbow-length gloves and dark purple fabric gathered near her shoulders, like a mock bolero jacket, Gaga's dress has sleeves that wrap around her lower arms, leaving her shoulders completely exposed.

  • Gaga has been opting for glamorous, over-the-top ensembles for her recent red-carpet appearances.

Lady Gaga has been making her way down several red carpets to promote her critically-praised film "A Star is Born," and she's donned several glamorous gowns and avant-garde ensembles in the process.

On Wednesday, Gaga attended co-star Sam Elliot's Hollywood Walk of Fame handprint ceremony wearing a more toned-down look that's quite a departure from her recent style.

It's a rather chic and refined look that's quite a contrast to the extravagant outfits she's been opting for on the red carpet.

On Sunday night, Gaga brought the drama to the 2019 Golden Globes red carpet with a Valentino design that was equal parts Cinderella and Judy Garland.
