Lady Gaga surprised disappointed fans with a pizza party after cancelling her concert

lady gagaThe INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga was forced to postpone a concert due to illness.
  • To make up for it, the singer threw an impromptu pizza party in the street for her fans.
  • Since she couldn't sing, fans in the street chose to sing to her when she appeared on the roof of her hotel.

Even Lady Gaga needs a sick day every once in a while. The “Million Reasons” singer, who’s currently on her "Joanne" World Tour, was forced to postpone a concert due to illness this Labor Day weekend, but she went above and beyond to make it up to her fans — by throwing an impromptu pizza party for them on the street.

“Unfortunately tonight’s Lady Gaga Joanne World Tour Concert has been postponed,” a joint statement from Live Nation and Evenko explained after Gaga had to back out of her Monday, September 4, concert in Montreal. “Hoping not to disappoint her fans, Lady Gaga took today to rest but unfortunately has now been instructed by her doctor that she will need to reschedule this evening’s show due to respiratory infection and laryngitis.”

Gaga certainly made the right decision for her health, but that doesn’t mean she didn’t feel guilty about the situation.

The "American Horror Story" actress sent a message to her loyal and loving fans via Twitter, writing, “I’m so sorry Montréal. We are working on postponing the show. Please read this message from my ❤️ below.” In a longer note, she added, “To my beautiful fans. I couldn’t be more devastated that I am unable to perform tonight. I sing this entire show live, and pride myself in giving it all, but when I sang in the rain at Citi Field I got sick and have been pushing through. I am so sorry to anyone who had their heart set on seeing me tonight. I love you. Xoxo, Joanne.”

She followed that with a tweet saying, “I’m sending free 🍕 to any monsters outside my hotel The William Gray Montréal 😭. I love u so much & I’m so sorry u are the most loyal fans.”

Her fans were certainly grateful (for both the pizza AND the autographs she signed and sent out to them)…

And because she couldn’t sing to them, they sang to her when she appeared on the hotel roof.

Get well soon, Gaga!

Lady Gaga reveals the real reason she and Taylor Kinney broke up, and it will break your heart

Lady Gaga Taylor Kinney

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga revealed the reason for her breakup with actor Taylor Kinney in her new documentary.
  • She said that they broke up because she was starring in a new movie.
  • If this reason for their breakup is true, it's a good reminder to have a frank discussion about priorities and goals with your partner.

When Lady Gaga announced her split from actor Taylor Kinney, many of her fans were baffled. They seemed so in love — even the breakup notice was romantic. But now, Gaga is revealing the real reason behind their breakup, and it may shine a new light on their relationship.

In her new documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two," which follows her during the release of her 2016 album "Joanne," Gaga breaks down when discussing her rocky relationship with then-fiancé Kinney. According to People magazine, Gaga said she and Kinney were fighting a lot at the time.

“Me and Taylor are fighting, so that sucks,” she said in the film. “My threshold for b------- with men is just — I don’t have one anymore. In relationships, you have to move together.”

The singer and the "Chicago Fire" actor began dating in 2011 when Kinney starred as the love interest in the music video for her song "You and I." They didn't often appear in public together, but the pair frequently posted steamy Instagram pictures of themselves.

The two got engaged in 2015, and even posed nude on the cover of V magazine together shortly after. But in 2016, Gaga announced they were calling it quits with an emotional Instagram.

"Taylor and I have always believed we are soulmates," she wrote at the time. "Just like all couples we have ups and downs, and we have been taking a break. We are both ambitious artists, hoping to work through long-distance and complicated schedules to continue the simple love we have always shared. Please root us on. We're just like everybody else and we really love each other."

So although it seemed hopeful that the pair may get back together, her documentary, which premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival last week, paints a different picture. They broke up during filming and Gaga seems to put the blame on Kinney being intimidated by her success, as her other exes have been. She said that her starring role in the upcoming Bradley Cooper film "A Star Is Born," led to their split.

“My love life has just imploded,” she said. “I sold 10 million [records] and lost Matt. I sold 30 million and lost Luke. I did a movie and lose Taylor. It’s like a turnover. This is the third time I’ve had my heart broken like this.”

At the time, her fans seemed to be pulling for the two to reunite, and even Kinney provided hope for reconciliation in the documentary when, according to People magazine, he sent her flowers to congratulate her on her Superbowl halftime performance.

lady gaga

But Gaga seems to have moved on to a new man; celebrity agent Christian Carino, who she's been rumored to been dating since February. She recently said she was "in love" with Carino during a performance in New York earlier this month.

Breakups are never easy, especially when there's no "big fight" to cause the split. In Gaga and Kinney's case, it seems that ultimately, at least from Gaga's side of the story, Kinney wasn't cool with her pursuing projects that might keep them apart.

Only they truly know what went down between them, but this is a good reminder to any couples that a discussion of goals and priorities in a relationship is important. Although you may not be engaged to an international pop star or an actor on hit TV show, everyone has personal and professional goals that can affect their relationships. Having a frank and honest discussion about these early on in the relationship can save you a lot of heartbreak later.

Lady Gaga reveals her struggle with an 'invisible' chronic illness — here's what you need to know

Lady Gaga

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga's new documentary will discuss her struggles with chronic pain and fibromyalgia.
  • The singer has previously spoken about her battle with the disorder on social media.
  • Fibromyalgia causes widespread pain and is not curable.

In 2016,  Lady Gaga revealed an Instagram post is 2016 that she suffers from "chronic pain" but never gave more details. But in her upcoming documentary, "Gaga: Five Foot Two," the singer and actress dives a little deeper into the disease she's been battling for some time.

The singer recently tweeted that the chronic pain she deals with is fibromyalgia, a disorder that is more common than people may think. In the tweet, she wrote that she wants to, " help raise awareness and connect people who have it,"CNN reports

Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that causes tenderness to touch or pain over the body.

According to the National Fibromyalgia & Chronic Pain Association, the disease can vary in intensity and affects people "physically, mentally, and socially." People suffering from this disorder, which often manifests itself in adolescence or young adulthoodfeel more pain than would be typically expected. Because of this pain, a few common symptoms include fatigue, tenderness, sleep disorders, memory problems, depression, and stiffness.

The foundation also reports that 10 million Americans suffer from fibromyalgia with a ratio of eight to two ratio, women over men.

There is no cure for this pain, and it is a lifelong condition.

The disease can occur on its own but has also been linked to stress, repetitive injuries, and other diseases like Lupus, according to the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases. Researchers are working to determine definitively what causes people to develop this pain in the hopes of finding a cure or better treatment options.

Healthline reports that treatment typically goes beyond medication and focuses on improving quality of life through self-care and lifestyle changes. Medication options vary from antidepressants and sleep aids to pain relievers and narcolepsy drugs.

Other celebs have opened up about their struggle with chronic pain or fibromyalgia.

George Clooney

In addition to Gaga, Morgan Freeman has specifically spoken about dealing with fibromyalgia. In an interview with Esquire, the actor described the pain. "Up and down the arm," he said. "That's where it gets so bad. Excruciating." The actor doesn't let this pain stop him from doing some of the things he enjoys like golfing or walking, but he can't fly pilot jets or drive.

According to ABC, other stars that have suffered from chronic pain include Paula Abdul, George Clooney, and Tobey Maguire.

In a press conference, Gaga said that the "pain is a microphone" and it "does me no good unless I transform it into something that is,"Variety reports. Here's hoping "Gaga: Five Foot Two," which will be available on September 22 on Netflix, inspires others suffering to transform the pain.

Selena Gomez

The INSIDER Summery:

  • Selena Gomez has been very open about her health.
  • In 2015, she shared that she was battling lupus and undergoing chemotherapy to treat it.
  • Recently, she announced via an Instagram post that she had to have a kidney transplant as a result of the disease.
  • Lupus affects roughly 1.5 million people in the US and has no cure.

In 2015 Selena Gomez revealed she had been diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease that required the singer to go through chemotherapy.  The singer recently opened up about the disease again, sharing that she had a kidney transplant over the summer

Gomez has been noticeably absent from the public space, despite having new music to promote. She addressed this in an Instagram post where she wrote that she, "needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering" over the summer.

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. So I found out I needed to get a kidney transplant due to my Lupus and was recovering. It was what I needed to do for my overall health. I honestly look forward to sharing with you, soon my journey through these past several months as I have always wanted to do with you. Until then I want to publicly thank my family and incredible team of doctors for everything they have done for me prior to and post-surgery. And finally, there aren’t words to describe how I can possibly thank my beautiful friend Francia Raisa. She gave me the ultimate gift and sacrifice by donating her kidney to me.  This isn't the first time the singer has taken off time to work to address her health issues. In August 2016, the singer told People that she's been suffering from "anxiety, panic attacks and depression," which can be side effects of the disease.

"I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off," Gomez said.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can "affect people in different ways," Gomez said.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, the disease can damage any part of the body, including joints, skin and internal organs, and causes the immune system to be unable to tell the difference between foreign invaders and healthy tissues.

selena gomez

Lupus therefore creates antibodies that can kill healthy tissue, in addition to causing inflammation, damage, and pain throughout the body. In other words, it causes the immune system to be overactive.

The disease isn't contagious, and it tends to affect women more than men, though most people develop the disease between the ages of 15 and 44.

Lupus can cause a myriad of symptoms, beyond those Gomez is suffering from.

Kenneth M. Farber, co-CEO and co-president of the Lupus Research Alliance, told People that the disease is "sometimes very misunderstood."

"It is not commonly known that depression, anxiety, and panic attacks can be side effects of lupus," Farber said.

The disease can also bring about a ton of other symptoms, including swollen joints, fever, fatigue, rashes, chest pain, hair loss, anemia, and more.

There is no cure for lupus at the present time.

Yet, while there isn't yet a cure for the disease, there are a bunch of different treatment options for lupus.

The disease is treated by a variety of different medicines, ranging from mild to strong, according to the Lupus Foundation of America.

The drugs are geared towards reducing inflammation, suppressing the immune system, preventing flare ups, controlling symptoms and minimizing organ damage.

A number of other celebrities have opened up about their struggle with lupus, as well.

Nick Cannon

Lady Gaga told CNN's Larry King in 2010 that she tested "borderline positive" for lupus, though she hasn't suffered from any symptoms. However, she noted that the disease runs in her family.

Nick Cannon revealed in 2012 that he has lupus, and even spoke with the Lupus Foundation of America about living with the disease in a 2014 interview.

Additionally, singers Toni Braxton and Seal also suffer from the disease, and have spoken about their struggles.

Days after tearfully opening up about her
chronic pain struggles, Lady Gaga was hospitalized for "severe pain" due to fibromyalgia, a disorder that causes widespread muscle pain, as well as fatigue, memory, and mood issues. But even as she deals with her own terrifying health scare, she's finding time to shout out others on the road to recovery, including fellow pop star Selena Gomez.

Earlier this week, Gomez shocked the world when she took to Instagram to reveal that she received a lifesaving kidney transplant this summer in her ongoing battle with lupus, a chronic disease that causes the body's immune system to attack its own tissues and organs.

I’m very aware some of my fans had noticed I was laying low for part of the summer and questioning why I wasn’t promoting my new music, which I was extremely proud of. Gaga, who tested "borderline positive" for lupus back in 2010, was one of millions of fans who were moved and empowered by the 25-year-old's bold admission and unwavering strength, and she let the world know. Taking to Twitter on Friday night, the "Joanne" singer sent "prayers & love to @selenagomez," dubbing her a "warrior princess" and "an inspiration." We couldn't agree more!

Gomez, who has always been open about her battle with lupus, is doing wonders to raise both awareness and donations for the cause. She gave a portion of ticket sales from her last tour to the Lupus Research Alliance, and her prompts for fans to visit the organization's website to learn more and get a better understanding of the chronic disease have had a massive impact.

Sometimes it's incredibly difficult to wake up every day knowing there is so much going on in the world. At times I feel selfish, I ask why, I ask how can this change? Will it actually ever change? I try to contribute my heart before anything because it can be so easy to lose the desire to have hope when sometimes all I want to be is angry. When I read about the beautiful women who wake up consciously every day to make a change, it inspires me to want to do so much more. Not really sure how I got so lucky @time but thank you for highlighting the power of what we can and will always strive to be. I believe in the goodness in the land of the living. I hope this is just the beginning of more change.

"Our phones have been ringing off the hook and our website traffic has soared," Kenneth Farber, president and CEO of Lupus Research Alliance, told E! News. Between the tour proceeds, "requesting donations to us on the occasion of her birthday, as well as yesterday's announcement … her appeals have raised almost $500,000 for research funded by the Lupus Research Alliance."

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga has canceled the European leg of her "Joanne" tour due to "severe pain" caused by fibromyalgia.
  • The leg of the tour was to begin Thursday in Barcelona, Spain.
  • In her statement, Gaga addresses critics who say she's faking the pain for various reasons.
  • A statement from concert promoter "Live Nation" states the canceled portion of the tour will be rescheduled when Gaga is well.

Lady Gaga has canceled the European leg of her "Joanne" tour to continue treatment for "severe physical pain"due to her fibromyalgia.

"I have always been honest about my physical and mental health struggles,” the 31-year-old pop star wrote on Twitter Monday about canceling the six-week portion of her tour. "It is complicated and difficult to explain, and we are trying to figure it out."

"I'm a fighter,” Gaga also wrote. "I use the word suffer not only because trauma and chronic pain have changed my life, but because they are keeping me from living a normal life."

"They are also keeping me from what I love the most in the world: performing for my fans. I am looking forward to touring again soon, but I have to be with my doctors right now so I can be strong and perform for you all for the next 60 years or more. I love you so much."

In a press release on Monday, the tour's operator, Live Nation, said, "Lady Gaga is suffering from severe physical pain that has impacted her ability to perform. She remains under the care of expert medical professionals who recommended the postponement [of the tour] earlier today. Lady Gaga is devastated that she has to wait to perform for her European fans."

The six-week European leg of Gaga's tour was to begin Thursday in Barcelona, Spain and end October 28 in Koln, Germany.

In her statement on Twitter, Gaga also addressed critics who accuse her of being dramatic about the pain she's enduring.

"I use the word 'suffer' not for pity, or attention, and have been disappointed to see people online suggest that I'm being dramatic, making this up, or playing the victim to get out of touring," she said. "If you knew me, you would know this couldn't be further from the truth."

Last week, Gaga was forced to cancel her performance at Brazil's Rock in Rio music festival when she was hospitalized due to pain from her fibromyalgia.

She suffers from chronic pain caused by fibromyalgia. The singer opened up about her struggles — which are documented in her upcoming Netflix documentary, "Gaga: Five Foot Two"— during the doc's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival.

The documentary premieres Friday on Netflix.

Lady Gaga gets real about her feud with the Material Girl: I want Madonna 'to tell me I'm a piece of s---'

lady gaga madonna feud netflix

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga's new documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two" is now available on Netflix.
  • The singer briefly discusses her feud with Madonna.
  • Over the years, Gaga has been accused of borrowing and ripping off some of the pop icon's songs. Even Madonna herself has called Gaga's music "reductive."
  • Gaga said she wants nothing more than for Madonna to push her up against a wall, kiss her, and "tell me I'm a piece of sh--."
  • Though she doesn't mention Madonna by name, Gaga said if she ever references or nods to anyone in music, it's meant to be as an honor.

Lady Gaga's documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two" is out on Netflix and in between working on her latest album and battling her chronic pain disorder, the singer addresses her famous feud with Madonna.

"So the thing with like me and Madonna, for example, is that I admired her always, and I still admire her no matter what she might think of me," Gaga is seen telling studio musician Nick Movshon a little over eight minutes into the documentary.

Movshon gives a look of disbelief at that statement and while laughing incredulously says, "OK."

lady gaga talks madonna

"No, I do," Gaga responds.

The scene is briefly edited and jumps ahead a little further in her conversation making the viewer wonder exactly what was cut, but Gaga goes on to explain the one piece of beef she has with the Material Girl.

"The only thing that really bothers me about her is that I'm Italian and from New York, you know. So, like, if I've got a problem with somebody I'm gonna f---ing tell you to your face," says Gaga. "But, no matter how much respect I have for her as a performer, I could never wrap my head around the fact that she wouldn't look me in the eye and tell me that I was reductive or whatever."

lady gaga documentary

Five years ago, Madonna told ABC she thought Gaga's music was just that.

"It feels reductive,"Madonna told ABC News' Cynthia McFadden in 2012 of the similarities in some of Gaga's music to the pop icon's.

It's tough to ignore the similarities between songs like Gaga's "Born This Way" and Madonna's "Express Yourself" or "Alejandro" and "La Isla Bonita," especially when Gaga has spoken about Madonna's influence on her "Born This Way" album.

While Gaga claimed she had a blessing from Madonna for "Born This Way," it sure didn't seem that way. In 2012, Madonna performed a mashup of "Born This Way" and "Express Yourself" during a tour in which she also sang the words, "She's not me."

Gaga said Madonna has never given her a call to discuss any negative feelings on her music.

"I saw it on f---ing TV," said Gaga in the documentary. "Telling me that you think I'm a piece of sh-- through the media is like, it's like a guy passing me a note through his friend. My buddy thinks your hot. Here's his like ... f--- you. Where's your buddy f---ing throwing me up against the wall and kissing me? I just want Madonna to f---ing push me up against a wall and kiss me and tell me I'm a piece of sh--."

lady gaga documentary

Though Gaga didn't explicitly admit to borrowing or referencing any of Madonna's famous works in her songs in the documentary, during the same conversation she's seen saying in carefully edited clips that she has experienced people feeling like she has taken from them. But Gaga said if anything she was simply honoring others.

Later in the documentary, you can see the singer briefly joke about her feud with Madonna again while visiting her grandma.

A younger photo of Lady Gaga is shown from high school when she was known as Stefani Germanotta before she had braces and a visible gap is seen in the singer's front two teeth.

"Hey, if I had kept that gap then I would have had even more problems with Madonna," says Gaga.

Madonna, of course, famously has a gap between her two front teeth.

The INSIDER Summary:

  • Lady Gaga's new Netflix documentary, "Gaga: Five Foot Two" just debuted.
  • In the film, Gaga takes her bathing suit top off casually while sitting by her pool and talking about plans for her new wardrobe.
  • The director Chris Moukarbel explained to Vulture that Gaga was more comfy that way.
  • "That's just the way she feels comfortable sitting at her pool at her own house [...] She was just being normal," he said.

In a new Netflix documentary, "Gaga: Five Foot Two," singer and songwriter Lady Gaga bares all — literally.

"I literally just turned the camera back and realized that while I was focusing on her creative director, Gaga had pulled her bikini top off," the documentary director Chris Mourkarbel told Vulture. "And that's just the way she feels comfortable sitting at her pool at her own house."

The scene takes place poolside at Gaga's house. She's wearing a green bikini and sitting on a lounge chair while talking with her creative directors Andrea Gelardin and Ruth Hogben. The team is discussing what her new look should be going forward.

While Moukarbel has the camera on Hogben, you hear Gaga say: "Sorry, I just ... this feels better."

The camera swings back to Gaga and she's taken her bikini top off. The singer dives right back into the conversation they were having, and nobody bats an eye.

In an interview with Vulture's Dee LockettMoukarbel explained the normalcy of this moment.

"She wasn't doing that for me," Mourkarbel said. "I think she probably had her top on for me and at some point was like, 'F--- it.' She was just being normal."

He said nobody in the group thought of it as a big deal.

"Everyone kind of laughed for a second, but then carried on because they’re not fazed by it so I just had to keep rolling," Moukarbel said. "And she knew she was on camera. She's very comfortable with her body and she's been nude before in photo shoots. It didn't feel like a taboo place to go."

Gaga is known for her bold statement on body positivity and standing up to would-be trolls. After the Super Bowl, when her stomach was the target of criticism, Gaga fought back.

"I'm proud of my body and you should be proud of yours too," Lady Gaga wrote on Instagram.

How Lady Gaga spends her $275 million fortune

Lady Gaga may have once written a song called "Money Honey," but cash isn't everything for the pop artist.

"Money has been put on a pedestal, beauty has been put on a pedestal, celebrity has been put on a pedestal," she told the crowd at one 2016 London concert, according to The Telegraph.

Still, with a fortune worth hundreds of millions of dollars, it's interesting to see what kind of costs Gaga is racking up.

The star — whose real name is Stefani Germanotta — recently offered fans an intensely personal glimpse of her life in the new Netflix documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two."

Here's what we know the pop star spends her money on:

Cat-eye malfunctions can happen to the best of us — no matter how pro we are at 'em. Despite how many liner tricks we have up our sleeve, these are the makeup meltdowns that will cause more late mornings to work than a long line at your favorite coffee shop. Normally, we take the frustration with a grain of salt (and some how-to hacks) but now, it looks like there's a new eye trend this season that will make our routines faster — and easier. Enter: A look we're calling "thumbprint eyeliner."

Unlike a classic cat-eye, mastering the look requires zero liquid liner and leaves you with the kind of imperfect results that won't result in a pile of half-used makeup remover wipes. Why is it dubbed "thumbprint liner"? The rounded swoop of shadow is exactly the same size as the pad of your finger. Fret not, because these oval wings are made to be sisters, never twins — the messier the finished look, the better. For once, you don't have to GAF about how precise your eyeliner looks.

Since you can use a brush or your actual finger to create the thick flick, we're predicting this look will garner the kind of popularity the "upside down" liner trend did last winter. The evidence is certainly mounting: Ever since Lady Gaga showed up at the Grammy's with rounded, blood red shadow peeking out from the corner of her eyes, shows like Tom Ford and Jason Wu have adopted the bedhead look on models like Bella Hadid. Now, thanks to Selena Gomez's charcoal-colored shadow at the Coach show, we're calling this the fall staple you shouldn't leave the house without.

Lady Gaga

Earlier this year, Lady Gaga took rock 'n roll makeup to the next level with this merlot eye look at the Grammy Awards. Rimmed with a black kohl liner on her waterline, celebrity makeup artist Sarah Nicole Tanno opted for the unique shape. As you can see here, the wing shapes are mismatched — adding to the IDGAF vibe. Her product of choice: Marc Jacob's Matte Highliner Gel Crayon in (Fine)Wine.

At Jason Wu's S/S 2018 show, models hit the runway with a last minute look: a soft thumbprint. "On the way here in the car I got a text saying ‘Let’s add a graphic element to it,’ so we ended up with a cool wing with an edge,"makeup artist Yadim explains to "WWD."

To get the look, simply grab a dense, rounded eye brush and pick up a deep, smoky pigment (Yadim used the dark green hue from the Maybelline The City Mini Palette in Urban Jungle). Wet your brush for precision, then start slow, adding more pigment until you have a dead ringer for this look — or create your own take.

For a hooded look, follow the same steps from above, but drag the shadow (or gel liner) from the outer corner to the inner corner of your eye, too. This technique adds instant drama – saving you an hour and a whole palette of smoky shades.

Tom Ford's edgy look is easily achieved with a mix of eyeliner, shadow, and gloss for a deepened effect. Makeup artist Pat Montelongo explains to "WWD,""We didn’t want a straight line, we wanted a little bit of that curve to it so it's not going out at an angle. It just goes softly hugging the eye and then just around the nice soft edge."

Although he's the master of smoky eyes, celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo upped the ante with Gomez's look. On top of her glitter lids, Vanngo smudged a grey shadow on her outer corner for a lived-in look.

Not sure you're ready for a full thumbprint of shadow? Ease in with this look, also created by Vanngo. Just use a small, stiff brush to craft a soft cat-eye, then buff the edges with a second, clean brush. It's no thumbprint, but it's a step closer to getting out the door in a flash.

Lady Gaga Beauty Evolution_16

Since making her debut in 2008, Lady Gaga continues to make headlines for her catchy lyrics and outrageous outfits

But it's not just her outfits — Gaga's makeup has been quite eye-catching, too. Whether she's rocking neon-colored wigs and bedazzled eyebrows to a new toned-down look, some would argue that Gaga (born Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) can pull off anything.

From her first performance wig to her 2017 documentary "Gaga: Five Foot Two," here is a snapshot of Lady Gaga's iconic beauty transformation.

Wigs have always been an integral part of Lady Gaga's style. Here she is at MTV's Total Request Live in August 2008 wearing a long blonde hairpiece with blunt bangs.

In December 2008, the budding pop star wore oversized fake eyelashes and glitter eyeshadow to Z100's Jingle Ball at Madison Square Garden.

In February 2009, Gaga coordinated her black and white sunglasses with her striped manicure while backstage at the Brit Awards. Her hair was worn in a high, side ponytail.

Shares in energy tech startup Buddy Platform have skyrocketed 300% in 6 months

buddy platform

Shares in ASX-listed energy tech startup Buddy Platform have climbed from 6 cents in April to 24 cents thanks to global distribution deals with telcos.

The company, which last hit headlines in March for the launch of its flagship product Buddy Ohm, had Microsoft as a seed investor before reverse listing on the ASX in late 2015.

Sales of Buddy Ohm, a system of connected sensors and devices installed in commercial buildings to monitor, analyse, manage and reduce energy use, has developed considerable momentum in the six months since.

“The reason we’ve gone from 6 cents to 24 is because we’ve distributed the product through the first major channels,” said Buddy founder and chief David McLauchlan.

“In the Caribbean, it’s through the largest telco in the territory – 70% plus market share.”

McLauchlan told Business Insider that telcos find connected devices attractive because it encourages higher ongoing use of their mobile networks.

“It’s absolutely perfect for them. There isn’t a carrier in the world that isn’t interested in putting more stuff on their network that they can monetise,” he said.

“The worst way for them to monetise is sell you a SIM card for you to put your [device] on. If they can sell you the thing, and they can monetise that on a monthly basis, happy days. That’s why this has been successful.”

The Caribbean, according to McLauchlan, is a particularly relevant market for energy conservation gadgets because of the confluence of high cost of electricity and massive energy consumption at tourist resorts.

With Canadian building managers also facing massive power bills due to heating demands, a telco deal in that country will be wrapped up this month.

McLauchlan told Business Insider that Australia, too, suffers from high electricity rates – pointing out the cost is “irrationally high” considering the abundance of sunlight and wind in the country.

“Natural resources like that should be highly affordable. I believe India has just published a statement that for the first time, for them at least, solar and wind were cheaper to generate than nuclear… Given that, we should be able to power the world almost.”

While Buddy Ohm is already selling directly to building managers in Australia, McLauchlan said he is working on a distribution deal with an unnamed local telco.

Globally, Buddy Ohm has now signed $22 million worth of contracts – and McLauchlan forecasts there will be “multiples of that to come”, with an aim to get the startup into the black by 2019.

“I feel very good about our 2019 commitment to shareholders, but also every chance I get I urge shareholders to remember that we will reinvest at every chance.”

The former Microsoft executive divides his time between the company’s offices in Adelaide and Seattle, and is also a mentor at consultancy Innovyz Start and Australian startup Bluedot Innovation, and a co-founder of events management business Bonza Bash Productions.

Editor’s note: An earlier version mentioned that Lady Gaga was an investor in the company’s seed round. A spokesperson for the singer issued the following statement in response: “Neither Lady Gaga nor any of her affiliated companies ever invested in Buddy Platform. Any representation to the contrary is 100% false.”

People can't stop laughing at the new Lady Gaga wax figure that looks nothing like the singer

  • A wax museum in Lima, Peru, unveiled a Lady Gaga wax figure.
  • Someone took a picture of it, and it looks nothing like Gaga.
  • People can't stop laughing about it.

Celebrity wax figures are notoriously hard to create successfully — just ask the poor soul who tried to make a Beyoncé wax figure for Madame Tussauds in New York and made her look white

And now another horrible wax figure has emerged, this time of Lady Gaga in Lima, Peru. On October 19, a Twitter user named Tobey shared two photos of what he says is "Lady Gaga's new wax figure in Peru!"

The wax figure — which is housed at the Museo de cera de Lima in Peru — is meant to illustrate Gaga in her iconic meat dress from the 2010, but instead looks completely, well, different from Gaga with muscular arms and a long face with straw-like hair.

Here are a few side-by-side comparisons of the real Gaga and the wax Gaga.

People immediately began cracking up at how different the wax figure looked.

It's not the only disturbing wax figure at the museum. If you want to see the museum's rendition of Shakira, Elvis Presley, and Miley Cyrus, the blog Cosas Que Pasan has you covered or check out the video below.

INSIDER has reached out to Tobey to find out if he took the photos himself, and if the figure looked any better in person.

Lady Gaga dyed her hair a copper shade of blonde — and it changes her whole look

  • Lady Gaga debuted her new copper blonde locks while performing at the American Music Awards.
  • Her hair was styled in dramatic spiral curls that flowed down to her shoulders.
  • She also went with copper lipstick and rosy pink eyeshadow to match.

Lady Gaga may not have been able to make it to Sunday night's American Music Awards, but that didn't stop her from pulling out all the stops. Along with recreating the AMA's red carpet solely for her Instagram (we aspire to be this level of extra), the 31-year-old singer also debuted a fresh and unusual hair color: copper blonde.

Gaga showed off her new 'do on her self-made red carpet, where she posed in front of an identical AMA backdrop, while flaunting her curves in a body-hugging black dress. The "Bad Romance" hitmaker wore her freshly dyed copper-blonde hair (a stark contrast from her usual platinum-blonde locks) in dramatic spiral curls, which perfectly framed her face as they cascaded down her shoulders.

Frederic Aspiras, the hairstylist behind Gaga's hair, explained on Instagram that he permed the singer's locks to acquire her accentuated curls. To protect her vibrant color, Aspiras recommends hair oils that lock in the shade. Additionally, to match Gaga's copper hair, the singer's makeup artist, Sarah Tanno, didn't skimp on the metallic colors, including copper lipstick and rosy pink eyeshadow.

And though Gaga didn't physically make it to the American Music Awards (she’s on an international tour—NBD), the singer's slay-worthy performance of "The Cure" (which was broadcast live from her concert in Washington D.C.) still managed to steal the show. Your fave could never.

  • Lady Gaga stunned with two gorgeous outfits at the Grammys Sunday.
  • The singer showed up in an Armani Privé jumpsuit and skirt on the red carpet.
  • She made a quick outfit change at the start of the show into a pale pink, angelic gown.
  • Gaga gave an emotional performance of hits "Joanne" and "Million Reasons." Fans said she looked like an angel.

Lady Gaga put on a powerful performance at the Sunday's 60th annual Grammys, but she also wowed with not one, but two gorgeous looks Sunday night.

The "Joanne" singer may have looked like she arrived to the Grammys in a gown, but it actually wasn't a dress. Gaga wore a show-stopping Armani Privé jumpsuit with a black skirt attached.

It may not have looked like much from up close. But once you see the dress from a few steps back, you'll understand why it turned heads. The train of the dress is enormous.

But it doesn't stop there. The dress also had a giant slit up the middle.

"This is for my father’s sister, Joanne," Gaga said as she started singing the titular track off her latest album on a feathered piano at New York City's Madison Square Garden. "This is for love and compassion, even when you can’t understand."

People are angry that Ed Sheeran's 'basic' pop song won the Grammy over Kesha's emotional ballad 'Praying'

  • Ed Sheeran won the Grammy for best pop solo performance for "Shape of You."
  • People thought the award should have gone to one of his four fellow women nominees.
  • Kesha's single, "Praying," felt particularly snubbed.
  • "Praying" is a powerful song that exemplifies the Time's Up and #MeToo initiatives.
  • Kesha was allegedly abused by her former collaborator Dr. Luke.
  • Many fans see "Praying" as a message about surviving assault and abuse.

Ed Sheeran's smash hit "Shape of You" was named best pop solo performance at the 2018 Grammys, sparking outrage among music fans who were hoping to see the honor go to one of the four women nominees

Sheeran's "Shape of You" was up against four singles by powerhouse women artists: "Praying" by Kesha, "Million Reasons" by Lady Gaga, "Love So Soft" by Kelly Clarkson, and "What About Us" by Pink.

When Sheeran won the award (though he wasn't there to accept the Grammy onstage), people immediately took to outlets like Twitter to express their dismay.

Many of the negative reactions to Sheeran's win came from a place of disappointment. Much of the conversation was focused on the snub of Kesha's "Praying," which is seen as an emotional and culturally relevant expression of the Time's Up and #MeToo initiatives.

Sheeran's "Shape of You" was a certified smash hit of 2017. The song was Spotify's most-streamed single of the year, with a reported 1.32 billion listens. The song topped many charts, including the Billboard Hot 100.

But despite the undeniable popularity of "Shape of You," people clearly think the Grammy should have gone to Kesha.

Others simply thought Sheeran's "Shape of You" was a mediocre pop song, and would have rather seen any of the women take home the Grammy.

Throughout the first half of the evening, Grammy announcements teased "a special performance by Kesha that speaks to our times."

When Kesha finally took to the stage to perform "Praying," she was introduced by Janelle Monae with a powerful speech about the Time's Up movement. Kesha was joined onstage by Cyndi Lauper, Andra Day, Bebe Rexha, Camila Cabello, Julia Michaels, and the Resistance Revival Chorus.

Everyone wore white — the color that represents the Women's Suffrage movement and the same color as the roses people wore on the Grammys red carpet.

Kesha's performance was staggeringly raw, and ended with the singer crying while embracing other women on stage. As Grammys host James Corden pointed out afterwards, the song felt like the perfect accompanyment to the #MeToo and "Time's Up" movement.

When "Praying" was first released, Kesha explained the inspiration for the single on Lenny Letter.

"This song is about coming to feel empathy for someone else even if they hurt you or scare you,"Kesha wrote. "It's a song about learning to be proud of the person you are even during low moments when you feel alone."

"Praying" was a comeback single for Kesha. She was unable to release music for several years when she had been trying to free herself from a contractual agreement with Dr. Luke, her former producer and mentor whom she alleges drugged, and sexually and verbally assaulted her during her time recording with him at Sony.

  • It led many to wonder whether or not the singer may be engaged.
  • Gaga has been seen wearing the ring since late 2017.
  • Us Weekly reported Gaga became engaged to her boyfriend Christian Carino back in November.

Lady Gaga stunned at the Grammys with two show-stopping outfits and an emotional performance, but the "Joanne" singer also had fans speculating over a piece of bling she showed off on the red carpet.

Gaga paired her Armani Privé jumpsuit with a few rings. Most noticeable was a giant diamond ring the singer wore on her wedding finger.

It immediately led many to believe the 31-year-old singer may be engaged.

The ring isn't new. Gaga has been wearing it for a while. She's been showing it off on her Instagram account since December 1.

And fans have been wondering whether or not the pink dazzler is an engagment ring.

The singer hasn't announced anything yet, but Us Weekly reported the singer became engaged to her talent agent boyfriend Christian Carino in November.

Gaga was seen with Carino in New York City leaving Marta Italian restuarant before the awards show on Saturday.

Amber Rose, who is behind the annual SlutWalk event in Los Angeles, offered up a sexy way to have fun by yourself during a conversation for her "Loveline" podcast with guest and bestie Blac Chyna back in 2016.

"Masturbate in front of the mirror," she suggested at one point. "I'm the queen of that. [...] I highly suggest it by the way. Just go home and masturbate in the mirror. It's fucking amazing. You should try it."

2. Rihanna

Rihanna, who has frequently portrayed herself as a woman confident in and happy with her sexuality, revealed the surprising quality a man must have to turn her on: "I'm turned on by guys who are cultured. That'll keep me intrigued. They don't have to have a single degree, but they should speak other languages or know things about other parts of the world or history or certain artists or musicians. I like to be taught."

Lady Gaga has spoken about sex and sexuality in a number of ways, but perhaps the most powerful example of her openness about the topic was back in 2011 when she revealed that she always practices safe sex and that she had a long road to feeling comfortable about enjoying sex.
