We already know Lady Gaga is a master of covers. We're still waiting on a David Bowie cover album.

But Mother Monster proved her repetoire includes other classic artists: The Beatles, Neil Young, Charlie Chaplin, and more.

While Katy Perry performed "Rise" at the Democratic National ConventionGaga performed at the "Camden Rising" concert for DNC delegates in Camden, New Jersey. The event was free and invite-only. Press was not allowed, but thankfully for our listening pleasure, attendees filmed Gaga's rockin' performances.

See Gaga jam at the piano while masterfully covering The Beatles' "Come Together."

Gaga covered another legend, performing Neil Young's "Old Man."

She covered fellow pop diva Cher's "Bang Bang."

She also sang Charlie Chaplin's "Smile."

And Gaga took on Edith Piaf's classic "La Vie en Rose."

Gaga made a patriotic move and sang Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land."

And she also went political with Phil Ochs' "The War Is Over."

Lady Gaga hasn't been seen on the pop charts for a while, but she's due for a comeback.

The singer took a break after her last solo album, 2013's "Artpop," failed to catch on like previous efforts, in order to pursue a collaboration with Tony Bennett and acting on FX's "American Horror Story."

On Wednesday she announced a new single, "Perfect Illusion,"through her Instagram. The song will be out in September.

Pitchfork reports that the song is produced by Mark Ronson, of "Uptown Funk," and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker.

Mark Ronson previously shared photos showing him working together with Gaga and Parker.

What you need to know about the mysterious illness that’s causing Selena Gomez to go on hiatus

Selena Gomez

Last year, Selena Gomez revealed she had been diagnosed with lupus, an autoimmune disease that required the singer to go through chemotherapy.

And now, after spending months traveling around on her Revival concert tour, Gomez announced that she's taking some time off to focus on her health.

The singer told People that she's been suffering from "anxiety, panic attacks and depression," which can be side effects of the disease.

"I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off," Gomez said in a statement.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease that can "affect people in different ways," Gomez said.

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, the disease can damage any part of the body, including joints, skin and internal organs, and causes the immune system to be unable to tell the difference between foreign invaders and healthy tissues.

selena gomez

Lupus therefore creates antibodies that can kill healthy tissue, in addition to causing inflammation, damage, and pain throughout the body. In other words, it causes the immune system to be overactive.

The disease isn't contagious, and it tends to affect women more than men, though most people develop the disease between the ages of 15 and 44.

Lupus can cause a myriad of symptoms, beyond those Gomez is suffering from.

Kenneth M. Farber, co-CEO and co-president of the Lupus Research Alliance, told People that the disease is "sometimes very misunderstood."

"It is not commonly known that depression, anxiety, and panic attacks can be side effects of lupus," Farber said.

The disease can also bring about a ton of other symptoms, including swollen joints, fever, fatigue, rashes, chest pain, hair loss, anemia, and more.

There is no cure for lupus at the present time.

Yet, while there isn't yet a cure for the disease, there are a bunch of different treatment options for lupus.

The disease is treated by a variety of different medicines, ranging from mild to strong, according to the Lupus Foundation of America.

The drugs are geared towards reducing inflammation, suppressing the immune system, preventing flare ups, controlling symptoms and minimizing organ damage.

A number of other celebrities have opened up about their struggle with lupus, as well.

Nick Cannon

Lady Gaga told CNN's Larry King in 2010 that she tested "borderline positive" for lupus, though she hasn't suffered from any symptoms. However, she noted that the disease runs in her family.

Nick Cannon revealed in 2012 that he has lupus, and even spoke with the Lupus Foundation of America about living with the disease in a 2014 interview.

Additionally, singers Toni Braxton and Seal also suffer from the disease, and have spoken about their struggles.

lady gaga perfect illusion

Yup, Lady Gaga is really back, and turns out she hasn't changed much at all.

The much-anticipated new solo single from Lady Gaga, "Perfect Illusion"— her first in about three years, and following the disappointing commercial performance of her last album "Artpop"— came out Friday.

Gaga has taken a new sonic turn on the track, which was produced by Mark Ronson ("Uptown Funk"), Bloodpop, and Kevin Parker of the rock band Tame Impala. It pares things down to a rawer, more natural instrumentation than the dance-pop hits "Bad Romance" or "Poker Face."

But that's not to say this isn't the Gaga we know. The '80s arena-rock vibe that owes something to both Bruce Springsteen and hair-metal as well as more straightforward pop of the decade, and those soaring, hold-nothing-back vocals, are vintage Gaga. And with the hooks on this brief earworm ("It wasn't luuuuhv"), expect to hear this thing all over the radio or your friend's playlist immediately.

Lady Gaga is in talks to play the Super Bowl halftime show

lady gagaLady Gaga is reportedly in talks to play the Super Bowl 51 halftime show in Houston in February 2017. According to Billboard, the singer could clinch the biggest stage of the year because the NFL was impressed by her performance of The Star-Spangled Banner at the 2016 Super Bowl.

The last year has definitely been a big one for Gaga, who won a Golden Globe and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song, "'Til It Happens to You." She is currently gearing up for the release of her forthcoming album and already dropped the project's first single, "Perfect Illusion," which was produced by Mark Ronson, BloodPop, and Tame Impala's Kevin Parker.

"We have had conversations with several fantastic artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show," an NFL rep told Billboard in a statement when asked about Gaga. "However, at this point we do not have a final decision. We're happy there is so much excitement about the show."

Previously, Adele said she passed on the NFL's offer to perform at the Super Bowl 51 halftime show. "They were very kind, they did ask me, but I said no," she told the audience at her concert in August. However, the NFL and show sponsor Pepsi said there had been no formal offer. "The NFL and Pepsi are big fans of Adele. We have had conversations with several artists about the Pepsi Super Bowl Halftime Show. However, we have not at this point extended a formal offer to Adele or anyone else," they said in a joint statement. "We are focused on putting together a fantastic show for Houston and we look forward to revealing that in good time."

Kanye West fans have already tried to convince the NFL to let the rapper perform at the halftime show with the hashtag campaign #KanyeWestForSuperBowl51, which would undoubtedly be an incredible choice considering 'Ye's penchant for entertaining and putting on epic shows like his current Saint Pablo Tour

Of course, the NFL has operated on a pretty clear-cut pattern of picking non-controversial Super Bowl performers since the infamous Janet Jackson/Justin Timberlake incident of 2004 and it's likely their next pick will stand by that method. If the NFL is still searching options, they can always look into the 10 artists Complex would love to see play the Super Bowl right here.

Lady Gaga is officially set to perform at the 2017 Super Bowl halftime show.

Gaga's performance at the event had been rumored earlier this month, but the singer took to Twitter Friday morning to confirm that she'll be the headlining act.

The 2016 Super Bowl halftime show saw Beyoncé, Coldplay, and Bruno Mars perform a medley of their respective hits. At this point, it appears as though Gaga will have no such accompaniment.

It's likely that her performance will feature material from her upcoming album "Joanne," which is set for release on October 21.

Next year's Super Bowl will take place on February 5 at the NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas.

Snippets of Lady Gaga's new album were leaked through Amazon's Echo speaker (AMZN)

Snippets of Lady Gaga's new album were leaked on Amazon after customers realised they could listen to 30-second clips of unreleased tracks by telling their Amazon Echo speaker to play the album.

BBC News reports that if you told an Amazon Echo to "play Joanne by Lady Gaga," it would start playing clips of the songs. Those clips shouldn't have been available for the public to hear.

Amazon did not immediately respond to a request for comment for this story.

Incidents like this happen because of the way releasing music online works. Listings have to be created on online stores and streaming sites before albums are released, then when the release time comes around the songs are made available.

But sometimes those songs can be released early. In January, Tidal accidentally leaked Rihanna's new album hours before it was meant to be released. It took the album down, only to re-post it at the correct release time.

The leak is unfortunate as Amazon is currently reported to be working on a music streaming service specifically for the Amazon Echo. That's going to launch in the next few weeks, according to The Verge, ahead of Amazon's full new music streaming service, which is expected next year.

Lady Gaga drives and belts her greatest hits with James Corden on 'Carpool Karaoke'

lady gaga carpool karaokeLady Gaga is in full promotional mode for her new album Joanne, so she stopped by The Late Late Show With James Corden on Tuesday night for what has quickly become a pop musician tradition: Carpool Karaoke.

Of course, having a theater background means that Gaga's live vocals are very on point, and during her appearance on Carpool Karaoke, she belted out her hits like "Bad Romance,""Edge of Glory,""Poker Face," and "Born This Way" with ease.

What she didn't have such an easy time with was driving. Gaga just got her driver's license earlier this year, and although she was enthusiastic about taking the wheel from Corden for part of Carpool Karaoke, her driving skills clearly aren't up to par. At one point, Corden even busted out a bicycle helmet for protection. According to Gaga, her family was very supportive of her learning to drive. "It was so embarrassing, my whole family came with me to the DMV," she said. "My father cried when I got my driver's license."

The two also discussed Gaga's upcoming performance at the Super Bowl LI halftime show, which she is very excited about. "Oh s--t," she said when imitating her response to finding out about the opportunity.

Later, Gaga also discussed her decision to purchase more than 400 pieces of Michael Jackson's clothing at a recent auction. "I've got a 'Thriller' jacket. I've got one of his gloves, lots of his tour costumes," she said. "I actually keep them in a temperature-controlled room so that they can be preserved for the rest of time."

Lady Gaga is reportedly playing Donatella Versace on "American Crime Story."

According to Us Weekly, Gaga will play the striking fashionista on the third season of the hit FX anthology. The season is based on the 1997 murder of designer Gianni Versace, Donatella's brother, by serial killer Andrew Cunanan.

FX hasn't officially announced any casting for the Versace season. In regard to the casting of Gaga, a show representative told Business Insider "no deals are done here yet."

The casting reunites Lady Gaga with producer Ryan Murphy, who has cast the pop star on the two most recent seasons of "American Horror Story."

Gaga is also a friend of Donatella Versace. She wrote a song about Donatella for her 2013 album "Artpop," and the singer was also featured in a 2014 Versace ad campaign.

The Versace season will follow the acclaimed first season of "American Crime Story" about the O.J. Simpson trial and the upcoming second season based on Hurricane Katrina.

Surrounded by sexual-assault survivors, Lady Gaga performed an incredibly powerful rendition of her Oscar-nominated song "Til It Happens to You" during the ceremony.

The song was written with Diane Warren for the documentary "The Hunting Ground," which is about sexual assaults on college campuses. Gaga began the performance sitting solo at a white piano.

After a screen lifted, sexual-assault survivors walked on stage and held hands.

Supportive messages, such as "Not Your Fault," were written on their arms.

Earlier this year, artist Selena Gomez announced that she would take some time off to focus on her health after suffering from anxiety and depression related to an earlier diagnosis of lupus, an autoimmune disease that required her to go through chemotherapy.

Gomez accepted the American Music Award on Sunday for favorite female artist in the pop/rock category, and in her acceptance speech she touched upon the ways the disease has affected her life.

"I think it's safe to say that most of you know a lot of life whether I like it or not," she said in her speech. "I had to stop because I had everything, and I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down, but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down."

Here's what you need to know about the disease.

Lupus is a chronic autoimmune disease

According to the Lupus Foundation of America, the disease can damage any part of the body, including joints, skin, and internal organs, and causes the immune system to be unable to distinguish between foreign invaders and healthy tissue.

Lupus causes the body to create antibodies that can kill healthy tissue in addition to causing inflammation, damage, and pain throughout the body. In other words, it causes the immune system to be overactive.

An estimated 1.5 million people in the US have the condition. It tends to affect women more than men, and most tend to develop the disease between the ages of 15 and 44.

lady gaga million reasons

The INSIDER Summary:

• Lady Gaga has released a music video for "Million Reasons."
• The video matches up perfectly with "Perfect Illusion."
• It could be a clue the superstar is about to drop a visual album.

Lady Gaga's newest album, "Joanna," has been getting rave reviews from fans and critics alike.

And slowly but surely, the so-called Mother Monster has been releasing new music videos. First there was the video for "Perfect Illusion," and now there's a new video for "Million Reasons," which Gaga sang at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show.

But what few have noticed is that "Perfect Illusion" perfectly melds with the "Million Reasons" video, and could be a major clue that Gaga is working on a visual album, just like superstar Beyoncé Knowles.

Take a look at the last shot of "Perfect Illusion":

And here's the very first shot of "Million Reasons":

They're the same!

And I'm not the only one who noticed — the fan site Gaga Magazine in the United Kingdom tweeted about the new video on December 13 and called "Million Reasons a "continuation from 'Perfect Illusion.'"

Knowles has become known for her visual albums, the first of which was the self-titled "Beyoncé" album that came out in 2013. Her more recent album "Lemonade" was even more lauded, even receiving nine nominations at the 2016 Grammy Awards, including for Album of the Year, Best Urban Contemporary Album, and Best Music Film.

Perhaps Gaga will soon release a full visual album, too, where all the songs merge together to tell a story of heartbreak and resilience that her album already does.

For her next music video, be on the lookout for this scene to see if there's any more clues about this theory:

Lady Gaga Tiffany's Super Bowl

Luxury jewelry retailer Tiffany & Co announced Tuesday that Lady Gaga will be starring in its Super Bowl ad.

It will mark the first TV spot from the jewelry company in 20 years and the first time it has ever broadcast a Super Bowl ad.

Tiffany has designed and produced the Super Bowl winners' trophy since 1967.

The spot will air just before the Lady Gaga goes on stage for the half-time show, which once again this year is being sponsored by Pepsi.

The ad launches a new campaign for Tiffany called "Legendary Style" and will launch the HardWear collection. American actress and singer Elle Fanning and Kenyan-Mexican actress Lupita Nyong'o have starred in previous iterations of the campaign.

Tiffany's released a teaser for the ad on Tuesday in which Lady Gaga speaks about the value of creativity:

Tiffany's Lady Gaga Super Bowl Teaser

Tiffany aired a Super Bowl ad with halftime performer Lady Gaga during a tumultuous time in its history.

The jewelry company had announced earlier Sunday that CEO Frederic Cumenal stepped down. Former CEO Michael Kowalski is leading the company until a replacement is found.

The resignation came amid a time of plummeting sales for the brand.

Tiffany has cited lower consumer spending and a slowdown in business at its flagship store as the reason for the decline.

Tiffany's Fifth Avenue store is located near Trump Tower, which has been overrun with tourists, protesters, and security since the election.

Lady Gaga, who is known for her eclectic style, introduces a new Tiffany jewelry line that appears more edgy than the brand's typically classic jewelry. She plays a harmonica and talks about herself loving the brand as a teenager in New York City.

This is the brand's first Super Bowl ad, though it has designed the championship trophy since the Super Bowl first took place in 1967.
